Here we are on the eve of another year.
We have so many "new years" at The Making Place our Birthday in March, the academic year in September and here again in January.
We are in our third Birthday year and are continuing to enjoy each others company and welcoming new friends.
Pat showed us how to make a bit tidy and Elise stepped in to help with the growing number of participants as we extended the tables
In November we decided to treat ourselves to the tuition of some local talented makers.
We made jewellery with Jillybeads books with Big Leaf Books an embroidered picture with Cotton on and a crocheted rag rug with our friend Dianne Noble.
It was a great success. Our guest tutors enjoyed the hospitable community of The Making Place and our members learned new skills. Most people had a completed item to take home. I finished my rug just in time to give as a Christmas gift.

Talking of Christmas our members worked hard making beautiful decorations for our tree at St Peter's Christmas tree festival Quernmore. Thank you to all those who voted for us.
We celebrated Christmas at The Spaghetti House again and were grateful the electrics held out. Delicious food and great service as ever.
We have so much to be thankful for and most especially the support of our volunteers.
We said farewell to Catherine and Rachel who have each found paid employment . Congratulations both.
Leanne and Celia are pictured above and we are grateful for Leanne's enthusiasm and Celia's baking and fun week by week.
We have room (and work) for more volunteers just turn up. There is always space at The Making Place to welcome old and new friends.
Looking forward to welcoming you soon. Wishing you a very Happy New Year.
