Is June 1st the first day of Summer?
It is pouring with rain which is always a good excuse to do some making indoors.
The photo is a picture of our "show and tell table" which is loaded up each week as our members have been busy- come rain or shine- making new and lovely things.
It is one of the many things I look forward to on Thursday. Cake coming a close second!
We are busy with a bird theme for our open day on June 11th and it was when Olive brought in this cat we thought we could set it among the pigeons on the big day! It looks well with the knitted mouse from Cathleen and they are both sitting on an advent calendar Mary has sewn (for that season which is a very long way off!)
As well as the fun things we make we also get busy with community projects. we are on with a new request from RLI for cot quilts at the moment, which is an idea project for Phil to master his machine sewing skills.
Today I have taken a phone call request for fabric sanitary towels for Africa. Maureen will be coming along on Thursday to tell us more.
I love the way crafts don't just delight us on so many levels but can make a huge difference in the lives of others.
Thank you for all the wonderful ways you contribute and we hope to be able to welcome you soon at The Making Place. Thursdays 10 till 1pm.
